A leader in the wheel industry for over 30 years, HRE Performance Wheels not only manufactures its 1-piece and 3-piece forged aluminum alloy wheels, but also designs and engineers them from scratch.
Its aluminum alloys are created for and targeted at the luxury-automobile, high performance-automobile, racing and SUV markets – and, of course, Porsche cars and SUVs.
(What does the acronym HRE stand for, by the way? If you know, please see below at the very bottom.)
What makes HRE wheels relatively unique?
The company asserts that its wheels are built to order. This allows for bespoke wheel sets that are customized according to each customer’s unique, specified size, offset, width and finish.
HRE Performance Wheels creates its products at its state-of-the-art, TÜV-approved facility in Vista, California, just north of San Diego.
What does “TÜV-approved” mean? TÜV (www.tuev.at) is a sanctioning body headquartered in the European Union, in Austria.
The TÜV AUSTRIA Group is considered a “third party” international organization that tests, inspects, calibrates, certifies and verifies companies and their products to the highest standards in engineering, manufacturing and product quality.
The TÜV Verified Quality Management System continues to stamp HRE’s wheel-manufacturing plant with its highly coveted seal of approval. Very few wheel manufacturers’ operations in the world ever meet this exacting standard of quality verification.
Indeed, HRE's wheel-manufacturing complex is quite impressive. If you’ve never seen it before, you must visit the Southern California facility during its annual Open House in or about every June.
The HRE Performance Wheels website opines that its wheels can be purchased at “select high-end car dealerships, specialty retailers and performance companies worldwide.”
One example of such a specialty retailer is Wheel Enhancement here in Los Angeles. (Check out Wheel Enhancement’s listing in our Porsche Resources Directory under the category of “Porsche Tires and Wheels.”)
